These fall-blooming perennials are lovely because they typically produce deep jewel toned blooms such as scarlet reds or purples with hints of orange.
Plant them throughout your landscape so you can enjoy their gorgeous flowers all year long!
1. Aster
Asters are blooming perennials that come in a variety of colors, including purple and pink.
They can grow best with full sun or partial shade to bring out their beauty as well as keep away from drying out too much during hot summer days! You should ensure your soil has enough moisture but not too much else because this plant is very sensitive to fluctuations in pH levels.
Aster plants make great additions for anyone looking at adding some fall color into their garden without having many flower bulbs on hand.
2. Goldenrod
Goldenrods are a common weed found in fields and outside gardens. They produce yellow blooms that make for great contrast with fall plants, but this plant can also spread to cover ground if not managed properly.
There’s several varieties you could choose from so try ‘fireworks’ which has less of an impact on your space or purchase some container-grown goldenrod!
3. Oxeye Sunflower
The unusual flowers on this plant are known as false sunflowers because their petals and bloom look exactly like that of a typical early summer blooming variety.
They also possess brown centers, but do not open up until late in the season when most other varieties have already gone to seed or dried out completely by then.
For perky blooms all year long they need plenty exposure under full sun for at least 4-5 hours every day; planting these babies in well drained soil will ensure good drainage while keeping them happy with regular watering whenever needed!
4. Turtleheads
This plant can grow to be up to three feet tall and one foot wide with amazing pink blooms that look like they’re puckering.
The petals start at the end of summer, continuing through fall; in addition these plants tend attract plenty more hummers than butterflies which makes for an even prettier garden!
They’re best suited for moist soil (with just enough acidity). These pretty flowers will thrive happily under either full sun or partial shade – though I recommend giving them some sunshine when possible 🙂
5. Helenium
Helenium is a plant that has been labeled as “the king of winter.” Not only does it offer cheery yellow, orange or red blooms at the end of your season but Helenium also deters deer and rabbits from eating other plants in their beds.
It’s part of an entire group called daisies which are native to North America . Despite its common name Sneezeweed it won’t aggravate allergies like many people think!
6. Witch Hazel
The beauty of witch hazel is in its leaves, but it’s worth checking out this fall and winter when you can see the spidery flowers.
They bloom way past other trees with their bright colors that will make your garden look amazing!
7. Sneezeweed
Sneezeweed is a fall blooming plant that produces daisy-like flowers. These plants are not weeds and they don’t make you sneeze, so the name may be deceptive but some varieties will grow to 4 – 5 feet tall in optimal conditions with full sun.
Best grown near streams or ponds for their tendency attract insects like bees by offering nectar sources as well so it’s an excellent choice if biodiversity matters most!
8. Heather
The plant known as Heather grows best when grown in full sun with slightly acidic soil.
Magenta and amethyst are my favorite colors because they remind me so much of a beautiful fall day, but there’s something about that purple color you just can’t find anywhere else!
9. Chrysanthemums
Chrysanthemums or mums as they are more commonly known as come in a few different variations.
Mums typically represent optimism, love and joy through their beautiful flowers that can range from daisy-like petals with overlapping edges to pompons packed globe shaped blooms depending on what variety you choose!
These plants need at least six hours of sun plus well drained soil for them flow flourish.
10. Pansy
Pansies are a great way to add color and flair into your garden! They come in many different varieties, so you can find the perfect bloom for any season.
Pests don’t seem to bother them either – pansy roots make these plants hearty enough that even little bugs like their blooms on ice plant flowers (and they keep flowering through snow!). Full sun helps produce more petals throughout each growing year as well.
Acidic soil conditions richly promise an abundant display of beautiful flowers at every turn.
