1. LETTUCE
Lettuce is an incredibly simple plant to grow. Simply fill up a bowl with water and place the leaves inside, making sure it’s in a well-lit area so that they can be misted regularly throughout the week.
In just three days time, you’ll see roots starting form! Finally at this point your lettuce should go into the soil
2. CELERY
Looking for healthy foods to grow at home? Celery is another great option. Cut off the base of celery, placing it inside a small bowl with some warm water and watch it as leaves start emerging from the top.
Remember, it should be placed in direct sunlight for one week! Once ready, you can plant these babies into soil or potting mix.
3. LEMONGRASS
Lemongrass is an excellent herb for growing at home. All you need to do it take some leftover lemongrass and place it in water with plenty of sunlight!
The roots should start new growth within one week, giving your plants the perfect opportunity to grow healthy leaves without any pesticides or chemicals on them.
4. BEAN SPROUTS
Growing bean sprouts is easy! Just get about a tablespoon of the beans you hope to grow inside your jar, cover them with water and leave overnight.
Drain off in morning before repeating process until they appear at desired size – rinse every other day for best results.
5. AVOCADO

Avocados are a great fruit to grow at home, but most people don’t know how. The next time you get your hands on an avocado seed and it doesn’t sprout right away- no problem!

6. POTATOES
If you have leftover potato peelings from a dinner or other food dish, they can be used to grow more potatoes. Just put these cut-up pieces in the soil and cover them up with an inch of dirt until morning!
Be sure that there are at least four inches between each piece so it has room for roots too.
7. SWEET POTATOES
Sweet potatoes are just as easy to grow, but they have a few more requirements. First cut one potato in half and suspend it with toothpicks above water that is several inches deep for at least 4 days before planting roots!
Once you see that the roots have grown up to an inch, they are ready to be planted in soil.
8. GINGER
Ginger is a food that’s always good to have around, but it can be hard for people living in apartments. When you plant the ginger root into soil and keep its buds pointing up, new roots will grow within just one week!
9. PINEAPPLE
Pineapples are such a fun fruit and they’re easy to grow yourself. Just cut off the top of your pineapple, put some toothpicks through it so that you can hang on its side over water with just an inch or two beneath the surface.
Once roots are formed, you can plant your pineapple in soil.
