Do you love gardening? It gives us an amazing pleasure and it excites us.
What could ruin our mood though, is those pesky weeds! They are so boring- we can’t help but want them gone as soon as possible without having to rely on harsh chemicals, which might be bad for the environment.
Luckily, we made this list with some awesome ways to get rid of weeds that don’t involve any harmful substances at all.
Let’s have a look at the list!
1. Pull your weeds out
It’s important to know the soils best time because you want a slow, steady pull. The smart move would be pulling out weeds when the soil is wet, since you want the whole root out.
2. Suffocate the weeds
The best way to keep weeds from taking over your lawn is by using mulch and large newspaper strips.
The layers of the paper will suffocate them because they don’t have sunlight, which means that just about any weed can be killed without much effort on our part!
3. Make a homemade herbicide yourself
You can use white vinegar (1/2 cup), a little salt and dish soap to kill weeds in your garden. Just mix together until the consistency is smooth before putting into spray bottle so you don’t ruin any of your herbal or vegetable plants!
4. Sprinkle Salt
It is important to be careful when sprinkling salt, as it can damage plants and sidewalks.
You should only use this method in places where you don’t want anything else growing such as the edges of lawns or between cracks on city streets.
5. Torch them
Some people like to burn weeds with a propane powered weed scorcher, it’s fun! You can find these at any garden store. They’re similar to the blow-torches chefs use in the kitchen to make creme brulee!
