Create a planting template
We all know how to work with a document template, but do you know how to make a “planting template”? You can do it right in your garden by starting with an 8 ft-by-8ft square wooden board and adding some wooden spools of different sizes to “punch” seed holes into fertile soil for faster growth.
Using this procedure will save us more time rather than digging manually everywhere around our plants.
Create a vertical tube planter
Vertical tube planters are a great way to grow strawberries. Make sure you cut holes all over the vertical tubes so that your strawberry plants can stretch outward and develop their roots as they get bigger too, because if not then they will just die.
Create Rubbermaid container garden
Make a nice porch garden and save some space by putting soil into the Rubbermaid container. It is advisable to use hack #14 in order to keep the container movable and light.
Practical bike rim trellis
The easiest way to grow your own vegetables is by building a vertical garden. A steel rod in the middle of 2 recycled bike rims and some lines of garden twine will do, just make sure they’re at least two inches apart.
Epsom Salt for you plants
You must have heard a lot about Epsom salt. Not only is it good for your skin, but this natural mineral is even better for plants.
This type of salt has high magnesium and sulfate content which are exactly what the plant needs to stay healthy.
Grow roses with potatoes
If you want to help your rose cuttings survive, all you need is a potato.
Place the cutting in one and add some extra moisture from it before putting them into soil; this will give rise to beautiful plants.
Grow 100 pounds of potatoes
If you grow potatoes in a barrel, they will be more resistant to pests and disease. Your shovel won’t damage the tubers either!
Switching plants has never been easier
The pot-in-pot method is a great way to experiment with where you place your plants in the garden.
It allows you to change seasonal crops, and switch out potted plants for ones that prefer shade or sunlight as needed throughout the year!
Start seedling in a lemon
If you want to make your plants grow faster, start planting them in lemons.
A lot better chance of survival for your plants comes if you start planting them in a lemon citrus fruit. Crazy huh?
Just cut the lemon in half, scoop out the middle of it and add some soil and seeds before watching fast growth!
Or start your seedlings in an eggshell
Did you know that eggshells can be used as a free source of nutrients for seedlings before they’re placed in the garden? The best part is, this natural pot comes completely at no cost!
Eggshells are a great fertilizer
There’s a dirty little secret I bet you didn’t know about: recycling your eggshells and making natural fertilizer. Trust me, your garden will be thankfull for all the calcium you’ll give it!
Diapers maintain moisture in potted plants
A tip for keeping your plants hydrated: Place a used diaper on the bottom of your planter. Keeps moisture longer than wadding or recycling bags, and you get to repurpose an item that would usually be thrown away!
Coffee filters will pull it off too
I’m sure you’ve heard that coffee filters can help your garden a lot. Get some and retain the moisture in your potted plants! I’d suggest using whatever you have around the house to save yourself a trip to the market.
Milk jugs are a perfect watering container
You can easily turn an empty milk jug into a water container. Just poke holes in the lid and put some water inside it!
Using milk jugs is great for your pockets too! It’s also good because they have potting soil that will help reduce how much dirt you use while helping your plants move around more freely without hurting themselves on sharp edges of rocks or other objects.
Easy to grow squash
It is easy to grow squash. First, dig a hole and place the pot in it as you plant seeds around its base.
Pour water into the soil directly at root level; then ensure that your plants stay hydrated for an extended period of time by doing this!
